Get The Look
While I should be writing a research paper on transnational organizations (yawn), I figured it was much more fun to create a "get the look" post about my current style envy, Miranda Kerr. Enjoy!

Spring Couture 2013
January, the best time of year for fashion's finest. The 2013 couture shows happened within the last few days in Paris and I must say this time around was astonishingly beautiful. While I, along with millions of other fans, wish I was there to enjoy it in person, I was able to suffice with viewing it online at Style.com. The first thing I did this morning was turn on my computer to watch each artistic show. My boyfriend (men just don't understand) sits there confused as I hog the laptop until I have watched and inspected each look as it walks down the runway. Not only do I appreciate the aesthetic of each entertaining show, but the quality and craftsmanship in each equally as entertaining. Couture is so beautiful because of the time and dedication it takes to make each piece. So much work is put into each detail. The fabric, the buttons, the overall movement of each piece is so admirable. As if I haven't been drooling all day, here were a few of my favorites:
Giambattista Valli
The collection started with an eclectic interpretation of black and white with almost hard or jagged edges. By the end, the tulle came out and the flower motifs emerged in rather whimsical and innocent sort of way.
Dior
Dior also had that ultra-sleek, feminine theme this season. There was a great mix of neutrals, black and whites and pastels throughout the collection. There was a perfect amount of volume while still making all the pieces rather wearable.

Maroon and Silver
// Bodysuit: Bebe, Shorts: Bebe, Boots: Qupid, Coat: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Vintage//
Today's choice sums up my entire personal style in just one, easily put together look. Feminine meets hard. The girly lace bodysuit mixed with strong, badass combat booties. Neutral colors and metallics. The maroon of the textured lace and sheen of the silver shorts. Simple. Wearable. A thoughtful balance of contrast.
Happy almost Sunday everyone!

Red Lips, Pink Sneakers
//Jacket: Bebe, Crop Top: Nasty Gal, Jeans: Madewell, Sneakers: Jordans 6 Retro, Ring: Vintage//
I have always loved sneakers and must say I have a pretty decent collection. When I was younger I always felt weird wearing them and would only do so with sporty sweatshirts or when I worked out. Now I wear them with everything! Shorts, jeans, dresses, or red lips and a smile! I stick with the classic and love love love my Jordans!

Origins Original
Collage created by Polyvore
1. A Perfect World SPF 25 Anti-Aging Moisturizer 2. Brighter by Nature Brightening Peel Pads 3. Checks and Balances Face Wash 4. Out of Trouble Rescue Mask 5. Lip Remedy 6. Silk Screen Refining Powder 7. Powder Foundation Brush
After years of searching for a skincare regimen that works with my overly sensitive skin, I have found it! As mentioned previously in my lipstick post (here) I don't wear tons of makeup and do really prefer a natural look, besides my mass consumption of lipstick and layers of mascara! Low and behold! Origins has changed my life and fulfilled all my skincare hopes and dreams. They offer great products for any skin type (dry, oily, etc.) or any skin need (acne, anti-aging, etc.) For me, I love that it combines natural ingredients that doesn't break the bank. Try it for yourself! Visit a Origins store or find it at Macy's or Sephora.

Snow Day
Our trip to the snow has come and gone in a flash. With two exciting days of adventure and laughing behind us, we now have to get back in the swing of things. Back to work, back to school and back to a dried out, cat-abused christmas tree that finally needs to come down. While I would define myself as a "warm weather" person, the beauty of the snow and the drive through the Sierra Mountains is so peaceful and scenic. Being seasoned pros at mini-vacations, I'm sure we will return to the area before the snow melts. Until then, its nice to recap with some pictures from our stay.
Me being quite the history buff, I had to check out the Mark Twain Museum. Look what I found, his desk from the 1800's!
Our favorite hotel in Virginia City... it's haunted too!

Bring on the Snow
Tomorrow evening after work, my boyfriend and I are headed to the snow. While it will be a short, 2-day excursion, I am excited to get away from the city and visit two places we frequent often, Reno and Lake Tahoe. With the weather being on average 30 degrees, and me finding San Francisco weather to be freezing, I am faced with the problem of what to pack. This is always a battle for me because I tend to be an, "I need to bring everything," sorta packer. This time around, I need to tighten the reins and only include items that are of course weather appropriate, comfortable and realistic. What I decided to do was use Polyvore to create an inspiration board of similar items I own and have decided to bring. The right side of the board shows my staple day pieces, thermals, scarves, badass boots and a parka. To switch up the days, I've chosen to also bring light-weight tops and thermals to layer depending on how cold it is each day. On the left of the board includes a few unrealistic but wearable pieces, each time my boyfriend and I visit Reno or Tahoe we have date night. The items I choose to bring can easily be folded in my suitcase and will look lovely for our one, "fancy" night out. While my day items will get much more use, I just loved the look of the white denim with a black velvet blazer. We'll see how it turns out! More pictures to follow.

Bay Area Legend
// Tweed Jacket: Nasty Gal, Cropped Undershirt: H &M, Oxblood Denim: Zara, Wedges: Aldo, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Louis Vuitton //
Happy New Year's Eve! Thought I'd break out my beloved Giants hat today as inspiration to the upcoming 2013 season. Also, received my new jacket from Nasty Gal a few days ago and love the idea of mixing something so casual (baseball hat) with a cute cropped tweed jacket. I love this jacket because it can be worn with jeans, dresses or really just about anything, it is a great staple piece I have added to my closet! Nasty Gal always has the best stuff on their site. I am highly addicted and must worn new shoppers that you will become addicted just as fast. Check them out here. Here's to 2013 and all that may await in the future. Oh, and of course, can't wait for baseball season to start again.

Grey Scale
// Blazer: Bebe, Lilac Blouse and Ombre Jeans: Nasty Gal, Boots: Chanel, Handbag: Louis Vuitton //
On any given day, my style changes and does a complete 180 degrees from the day before. Monday I will wear a floral dress and by Thursday I'm in sneakers. Today, I dressed the way the weather looked outside; gloomy with a chance of sunshine! I find lately I am wearing more black and neutrals with fun pops of color to counteract the monochromatic look. What do you think?
